Region 20 Kyo Sah,

You may have heard of the unexpected passing of our Grandmaster Robert Beaudoin. A very sad day to be sure. I would like to use the words of our most Senior Master in our Region 20, Master Laurence Dercole. I will forward official announcements from WTSDA as I receive them.

We will have Black Belt Class on Saturday in his honor.

Reflection

Humanity has lost one its finest today (1/29/20), WTSDA has lost a long standing and distinguished leader, and we’ve all lost a dear friend, KCN Robert E Beaudoin.

Many of us absorbed in somber and sadness of his passing are sharing emotions and feelings of emptiness. Reading the numerous social media posts seems to be a source of comfort as we all felt very close to KCN REB, others perhaps closer.

During a recent event in Mexico just this past September I had asked KCN how he was maintaining with his constant world traveling schedule. His simple answer was that he felt compelled to carry on the legacy of his teacher, Jae C Shin.

While each of us have favorite memories and experiences with GM Beaudoin, mine was working along side him during the historic 1984 Mission in China. Since then he has often called me “China Buddy”.

Our condolences to the Beaudoin family. We thank him for his lifetime of service and guarding the WTSDA legacy. May his contagious smile and compassionate bear hugs live on in our memories. Rest In Peace.

Master Laurence D’Ercole
